#PumpkinBeerWeek: WACHUSETT BREWING COMPANY – WACHUSETT PUMPKAN (From the Archives)

Thought we’d hit everyone with a great Pumpkin Beer we reviewed last year from  Wachusett Brewing Company

Surprisingly, these are a rare find among the racks and racks of Shipyard Pumpkinhead that dominate most New England establishments from August to November. Served exclusively in cans (hence the name), the beer hits you with pumpkin spice aromas (obviously!) upon opening, with a huge punch of ginger.

For us, the taste was right on – really balanced and not super sweet, and also not your generic fake-pumpkin-y taste, a bit more of an earthy vibe (think squash/sweet potato) which was great. A little malt and a little bitter at the end made it perfect.

A great, rare seasonal – try it if you can find it – you won’t be disappointed.

Stay tuned for more pumkin-awesomeness all this week!
