GIB Mad Dash Fresh Hop ESB

Granville Island Brewery Mad Dash Fresh Hop ESB: Obtained from the brewery retail shop a few days ago, this fresh hop ESB was brewed onsite at a strength of 5.6% abv with 45 IBUs of fresh centennial hops from the Sartori Cedar Hop Farm in Chilliwack, harvested fresh and quickly transported into boiling wort on Vancouver’s own Granville Island within hours. I haven’t seen this outside the retail location, but it may be in some stores.

Aroma and Appearance: It pours a clear very slightly cloudy copper with two fingers of foam and some sporadic small bubbles. The aroma is grassy, with lemon, toffee, bread and loose leaf tea leaves.

Flavour: I got both toffee and caramel, with some oily lemon zest upfront, a bit of orange peel in the middle and some slightly sweet lemon and grassy bitterness on the finish.
