Located in the self-proclaimed “Outdoor Adventure Capital of Canada”, Squamish, B.C. is home to the Howe Sound Inn & Brewing Company, a character North-West boutique hotel and brewpub.  This establishment was opened in 1996 and the owners employed the services of John Mitchell to help design the Howe Sound Brewery, as well as work as their first brewer, developing their initial recipes. In 1980, John Mitchell and Frank Appleton pioneered North America’s first modern craft brewery at Horseshoe Bay on B.C.’s spectacular Howe Sound. This began what has become known as the “craft brewing renaissance”. Howe Sound Brewery has felt honoured to work with John and have an on-going relationship with him as the brewery has matured.
