This clear amber lager was brewed by Heineken Italia. It sports mild carbonation and a sharp taste with easily distinguishable flavours of corn. It is very easy to drink and is lovely and refreshing.
Taste tested, not for the first time, at Brewers Fayre in Andover on the way from Somerset to Croydon. I chose the Birra Moretti to accompany a flaked salmon salad with new potatoes. It did a sterling job. The sharpness cutting through the oiliness from the fish and the slightly over exuberantly dressed salad. The best part was getting to drink the whole bottle myself. I’ve been plagued with face shingles over the last few weeks so asides from a few sips of Revisionist and Dunkel I’ve been alcohol free!
