The Duke's Head“It could almost be abroad,” Dad mused.  We were sitting at a turquoise table in the sunshine, surrounded by a crowd of younger men and women in polo shirts and shorts or summer dresses, the river only a couple of metres away and a large bridge in sight.  Geese were swimming against the tide just below us, bustling past drinkers at the river’s edge.  A light breeze occasionally brushed through the tree-lined avenue separating us from the water.  Were it not for the red buses crossing the bridge, or the ‘Made in Chelsea’ focus to the conversations around us, we would have struggled to believe that…
