Hop City Hopbot IPA


This was one I bought mostly because the can looked awesome, but partly because I’ve never had a bad Hop City beer (they’ve never blown me away either though…) so I figured I’d give this one a go. I am oh-so-pleasantly-surprised by it too!

Name: Hop City Hopbot IPA
Style: American IPA
From: Brampton, On
ABV: 7.1% (!)

Appearance: It pours a clear amber colour, with a thick, short lasting off white head.
Aroma: A bunch of lemon, tangerine, grapefruit notes mixed with a touch of pineapple and mangoes.
Taste: Medium bodied, with a touch of sweetness from the malt and not too much bitterness (makes me think this was primarily dry or late hopped). As for flavours the same citrus and tropical notes come though first, followed by a bit of pine and finished with a caramel and biscuit that fades pretty quickly.
