Surlie Brewing Solitaire

Surlie Brewing Solitaire: Brewed in Abbotsford, BC so far this local nano brewing has released only one beer in bottles which happens to be the one called Solitaire, which is brewed at a strength of 6.5% abv and is available in private liquor stores here.

Aroma and Appearance: It pours a dark brown with lots of side bubbles that rise up to create a good 3 fingers of foam in the glass. The Aroma is dark fruits like plums and cherries with notes of brown sugar and molasses malts.

Flavour: I got lots of dark fruit, molasses, brown sugar and some nutty earthy malts and a coffee like dry porter finish.

Overall Impression: If you only release one beer, this is a good one to release! Dubbed a Belgian Strong Ale, it delivers some complexity, a decent abv punch and flavours that work together quite nicely.
