Review: Big Muddy Backwoods Monster Imperial Oak Aged Brown Ale

BlackMetalBrandon

Wow, what a long name. My love for barrel-aged beers is well documented on this blog, so I had to pick this one up. Hefty price tag for a 22oz bottle, but rather worth it. A great taste blend of malt and lingering hops. More hoppy and bitter than I generally enjoy, but the oak brings out some nutty flavors really well. Hard to describe.. Quite easy drinking. This Illinois brewery has some interesting brews, but this one’s my favorite of theirs thus far.
