All across the world, people ring in each new year and each successive birthday by converting their livers into sponges and soaking up every liquid ounce of alcohol in sight. While liquor is no doubt the hardcore choice, throughout history humans have turned to beer to honor their own celebrations. Thus, it’s only proper that breweries commemorate another year and another tally on the wall of their brewhouse with an anniversary ale. Just about every brewery does it in some capacity, whether through throwing an event at the brewery or distributing a unique release for fans incapable of making the trip. My tastebuds recently had the pleasure of figuratively blowing out the birthday candles for Port Brewing Company with their Anniversary Ale.
To be honest, I’m slightly confused with whether this was the 10th Anniversary Ale, as advertised when I ordered it at Brickwall Tavern
