Delayed post as I was out all night – Wet July Day 26 saw a visit to Underground Brewing in Erskine Park. Underground is a great little brew pub attached to a wood fire pizza restaurant (Gotties) a short drive or taxi down the road from where I used to live. Problem is I didn’t know it existed until a week before I moved away from the area.


It’s been about 5months but Chris recognises me when I walk in and asks me how life in the sticks is going. He directs us straight to the latest beer he’s put on tap – a Newcastle Double Brown.


Pours a dark brown almost black with tan head, it has a heavy chocolate aroma and I instantly fall in love with this beer. There’s nothing I love more in a dark beer than the smell of chocolate over the normal roasty smell you…
